Orders, Shipping & Tracking

When will my order be shipped?

Please allow up to 72 hours from the time your order was placed for it to be shipped, with the exception of personalized orders which may take up to 3 weeks to ship. Orders placed on the weekends will be processed Monday. 

Once your order ships we will send you a shipping confirmation email with the tracking information. Please refer to your tracking number for tracking updates.

U.S. Shipping Timelines:

  • UPS Ground* - Delivery within 2-6 business days from the ship date.
  • UPS 2nd Day Air* - Delivery within 2 business days from the ship date.
  • UPS Next Day Air* - Delivery within 1 business day from the ship date. 
  • UPS Worldwide Expedited (Canada, Mexico, Australia, United Kingdom, and India) - Delivery within 5-12 business days from the ship date.

*All shipping costs are calculated based upon location.

Can Set & Stones gift wrap my order?

Yes! At checkout, please check the box “this order contains a gift” so our team can ensure your order is gift wrapped with a ribbon. All gift orders will also include a card for a personalized message. If you would like to add a personalized message, please include your message in the “Add Order Notes” section in your cart. Prices will not be included on the packing list.

Does Set & Stones ship internationally?

We currently ship internationally to Canada, Mexico, Australia, United Kingdom, and India. For all other international shipping inquiries outside these areas please contact our team here for a shipping quote.

I live in San Diego, can I come pick up my order?

Yes, local pickup is at our office located in Hillcrest, San Diego (92103). If you selected Pick Up at checkout, as soon as your order is ready you will receive an email confirmation. Please let us know at least an hour in advance when you are coming to pick up your order via email or text.

Pick Up Hours: Monday - Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Warranty & Repairs

What is Set & Stones’ warranty policy?

Although we strive for perfection, life isn’t always perfect and neither are we! All of our pieces are covered under a 30-day warranty that covers any manufacturing defects. This means that if there is an error in design or a manufacturing flaw, you can rest assured under our warranty that we will repair or replace your jewelry, free of charge. 

For any damages that occur outside of the warranty policy, please fill out the repair form here and our team will be in touch with you soon.

What if my jewelry breaks?

We’ve got you covered! To start a repair, please fill out the repair form here and our team will be in touch with you soon. For repairs that fall outside of the 30-day warranty policy, a repair fee of $30 will apply. This covers the cost of the repair plus shipping both ways. 

Please Note: Repairs may take up to 3 weeks.

Returns & Exchanges

What is Set & Stones’ return policy?

Set & Stones offers refunds, exchanges or store credit within 30 days of delivery (sale pieces and customized styles are excluded). All fine jewelry (14k solid gold) purchases are only eligible for store credit.

How do I start a return?

If you're not satisfied with your order, Set & Stones offers refunds, exchanges or store credit within 30 days of delivery (fine jewelry, sale pieces, and customized styles are excluded). All items must be unworn with original packaging. Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs back to Set & Stones. 

Only items purchased from setandstones.com are eligible for returns or exchanges. Items purchased from other specialty stores or department stores must be returned to the store from which it was originally purchased. 

To initiate a return or exchange, please contact us at orders@setandstones.com and provide your order number in your request.

Please note: Shipping costs are nonrefundable.

How long does it take for returns to be processed?

Returns will be processed within 3-5 business days of delivery at our studio. 

Once we receive and inspect your return, please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to reflect back on the original form of payment. In the case that store credit is issued, you will receive an e-gift card. After a refund is processed you will receive a refund confirmation email.

For exchanges, once the return is received, the new item will be shipped within 3-5 business days. 

Unauthorized returns will not be accepted and the customer will be responsible for return shipping.

Personalized Orders

How long do personalized orders take to ship?

All personalized Cheyenne and Goldie Necklaces are made to order and require up to 3 weeks for production before shipping. Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with the tracking information.

Care Guide & Product Information

How do I care for my jewelry?

As a golden rule, your jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. 

By this, we mean your jewelry should be the last thing you put on after you get dressed, apply skincare or other beauty products, and the first thing you take off before you get undressed, exercise, shower or go to bed. 

To keep your jewelry looking like new, being proactive with regular cleaning is key! We recommend gently cleaning your jewelry with a clean and dry microfiber cloth to remove any build up from beauty/skin products, dirt, and oils that gradually cause gold and silver to dull over time. 

When not being worn, store your jewelry in a safe, dry place like a jewelry pouch or box. Store pieces separately to avoid damage.

Put your jewelry on after applying lotions and sunscreen, or spraying perfumes and hairspray. The chemicals in skin and beauty products can tarnish gold and silver jewelry.

Avoid wearing your jewelry in pools, hot tubs/spas, and the ocean. Harsh chemicals, like chlorine, commonly found in pools/spas are damaging and can cause your jewelry to tarnish or become dull. The salt found in ocean water is corrosive to metals like gold and silver and can tarnish your jewelry wearing down the shine over time. So if you do wear your jewelry swimming we would recommend rinsing with clean water to wash away the salt and chlorine.

Remove your jewelry before exercising and sleeping. The oils and sweat from your skin can be hard on your jewelry. Each person’s individual body chemistry varies and our skin’s pH can cause gold to tarnish over time. 

It’s especially important to care for your pearls to prevent any damage to this delicate gemstone and maintain its radiant iridescent shine. Avoid submerging your pearls in water. To clean, gently buff with a clean and dry microfiber cloth. Remove your pearls when exercising and sleeping. Avoid contact with sunscreen, lotions, makeup, and soap as these can significantly dull the shine of your pearls.

How should I clean my jewelry?

If your jewelry needs a deep clean, in a bowl of warm water mix in a pea size amount of mild soap and let your jewelry soak for a few minutes to help loosen any build up from beauty products, dirt, and sweat (be sure not to submerge any pearls). Rise each piece, then pat completely dry.

To remove tarnish spots, gently buff with a clean dry microfiber cloth.

Pearls should not be submerged in water nor cleaned with soap. Instead, gently buff your pearls using a clean and dry microfiber cloth.

Can I wear my jewelry in the shower or pool?

While gold fill is durable and long lasting, we do not recommend wearing your jewelry in the pool or shower. Exposing your jewelry to water and chemicals will slowly leave your gold and silver looking dull and discolored. 

To maintain your jewelry’s longevity, we recommend removing it before swimming (oceans and pools aren't our best friends!) and showering. If you do wear it swimming we would recommend rinsing it with plain water to wash away the salt and chlorine.

How does Gold Fill and Gold over Brass wear on skin?

The oils and sweat from your skin can be hard on your jewelry. Each person’s individual body chemistry varies and our skin’s pH in some instances can wear down the gold fill or plating causing slight discoloration.

To maintain your jewelry’s longevity, we recommend removing it before sleeping or exercising and regularly cleaning with a dry microfiber cloth or mild soap/warm water.

What is 14k Gold Fill?

14k Gold Fill consists of a thick and durable outer layer of solid 14k gold that is pressure-bonded to a brass core. Gold fill is durable, long-lasting and a great affordable alternative to solid gold.

What is Gold over Brass?

Gold over Brass, also referred to as Gold Plated, consists of a thin layer of gold that is electroplated to a base metal such as brass. 

Electroplated jewelry is more durable than traditional plated or dipped jewelry due the process of bonding the gold to the base metal rather than coating it.

Why do my stones/pearls look different?

Due to the natural variation in semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls, each piece is unique and may vary slightly from the image shown. We hand pick each stone/pearl, so we do our best to make sure each and every one is flawless.

Does 14k Gold Fill tarnish?

It can, but when cared for properly Gold Fill can last you many many years! To help keep your Gold Filled pieces looking like new we recommend reading our Care Guide for the best tips and tricks.

Does Sterling Silver tarnish?

Sterling Silver is vulnerable to tarnishing but tarnish spots can be removed by gently buffing with a clean dry microfiber cloth or with mild soap/warm water.
